Billy Graham – A Faithful Testimony

TED (Technology, Education, Design) conferences regularly feature diverse, profound, innovative, and sometimes amusing reflections on life, technology, the present, the future, and how everything fits together. Not everything is Christian orthodoxy, of course, and that's to be expected, but there's a lot to be learned from them that shouldn't be missed.

To my great joy and surprise, I found a presentation by Billy Graham. Pure Billy Graham. Nothing to do with the speeches with vague and fluctuating theological boundaries popular in certain post-modern 'emerging' evangelical 'Christian' circles obsessed with pleasing everyone at all costs, even if it means ignoring Jesus so as not to be a nuisance.

Nor has it any physical or emotional agitation, Bible in hand, of a Pentecostal nature (may my people forgive me); on the other hand, there is a lot of simplicity, grace and love and a very clear expression of man's need for God and the revelation of God found in Christ Jesus. A man who, before such an audience, does not succumb to the temptation to water down the message, as many do to the point of making it unrecognizable, deserves our respect.

And in an era where many preachers happily play the 'Don Juans,' how can we not applaud the example of someone who lives according to what he believes? For Anglophiles, enjoy this video, and pray for the Billy Grahams of our time.
