A woman came to a healing meeting. She came forward for prayer without saying why. I prayed, she experienced deliverance and explained to us afterward that following a move, she had demonic experiences in her home. She had a oppression in her head and following prayer, the oppression went away. Her problem was related to the place where she had been. Some places because of their history, often a tragedy, a murder, occult activities, violent, etc. that had taken place there in the past are filled with demonic activity. Those who live there can easily be attacked or dominated by these spirits. Sometimes it is objects found there that provoke the demonic activity.
The Abominable Objects
A servant of God[i] had noticed a devilish presence in his house. Sometimes it was a strange smell. And it came from a specific part of their house. They had to pray to ask God to reveal the source. God showed them a bundle of beautiful books that they had inherited. They opened them and they were books filled with images of ghosts, tombstones, gargoyles, and so on. They repented and broke the bonds and threw these books in the trash. Everything disappeared.
Deuteronomy 7:25-26
25 You shall burn the carved images of their gods with fire. You shall not covet the silver or gold that is on them, nor take it for yourself, lest it become a snare for you. For they are an abomination to the LORD your God. 26 You shall not bring anything detestable into your house, lest it be destroyed like it; it shall be an abomination to you; it is an abomination to you, for it is a thing devoted to destruction.
God forbids bringing an abominable object into one's home so as not to be, like that object, under threat of destruction. Possessing objects used for various types of occult worship invites demons. Demons are attached to these objects and attach themselves to the people who possess them and afflict them. Israel was expressly instructed not to touch the cult objects of the Canaanite peoples, and we must respect the same principle for our own good. Examine the objects in your possession, ask God to show you if you possess abominable objects.

In the book of Acts, (Acts 19:19) the new converts in Ephesus took out all their books on magic and occultism and burned them. It was a new beginning and everything belonging to their old lives was destroyed.
They destroy contaminated objects
One day, some friends of John Sanford[ii] called him at the last minute because his wife was terrified, convinced that she was being pursued by a demon in their new home. He discovered idols and figurines that they had brought back from their missionary stay abroad. They were gifts, but what they didn't know was that some came from sorcerers and had been used in occult practices. These objects were an invitation to demons. They had to take them out and burn them. Look at what you have in your house; are there sacred objects, strange objects, etc.? They can be the source of demonic problems, oppression, and various diseases.
Derek Prince, whose family owned valuable Hindu artifacts, decided to part with them. Born in India, he had spent his early years there and had inherited dragons purchased by his parents. God opened his eyes to the reality of the spiritual world, showed him several of these artifacts, and he destroyed them despite their market value.
Look at what you have in your home. Are there any sacred objects, strange objects, etc.? They can be the source of demonic problems, oppression, and various diseases. Share on XWe are the temple of the Holy Spirit and must not touch anything impure, anything linked to idols. This would harm our intimacy with God. Israel had a strict injunction to ensure that their camp was clean. When people go on a journey, they return laden with souvenirs, some unfortunately chaining them and their children.
Sacred sculptures were to be delivered to the flames, completely burned. Everything we own that is occult—ouija boards, cards, divination tools, books (which we will discuss later), sculptures, statuettes, clothing, crystals, esoteric music CDs, esoteric jewelry—must disappear. They are invitations to demons.
