One of my favorite quotes from Charles Spurgeon is this: 'It is impossible to flatter Jesus.' Absolutely. There is no exaggeration possible about Him. He is far superior to any excellent description we might give Him.
After studying Colossians about ten years ago, I wrote this on my blog about the contemplation we had just had of the Son.
'What a sight of glory, of wonder, a vision of extraordinary majesty and inexpressible beauty—the image of the invisible God, the Firstborn, the One for whom and through whom all things were created, the One in whom dwells all the fullness of God bodily, …. Oh for a spirit of wisdom and revelation that I may know You, enlighten the eyes of my heart that I may see…'
