One of the most fascinating stories in the Bible is that of Elisha facing the army of the king of Syria. The king of Syria, exasperated by Elisha's revelations, had sent troops against Elisha and surrounded the city with Dothan where there was a troop of chariots and horses. Elisha is not at all moved by this, aware of higher spiritual realities, and he prays for his distraught servant: 'Lord, open his eyes, that he may see.'God opened his eyes and he saw in the Spirit a multitude of horses and chariots of fire surrounding Elisha, more numerous than those who opposed them. He has I had access to knowledge revealed by the Spirit of God and which in his era was limited to the prophets alone.
The new order
The coming of the Holy Spirit the Pentecost day radically changed the situation. He came to bring to fruition the new order inaugurated by Christ Jesus. As those present marveled at the breathtaking scene they were witnessing, Peter stood up to explain it, quoting Joel's prophecy thus:
Acts 2:17 In In the last days, says God, I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; Your your sons and daughters will prophesy, Your Young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.
Acts 2:18 Yes, upon my servants and upon my handmaids, In those days, I will pour out of my Spirit; and they will prophesy…‘'‘
Indeed, Joel was looking ahead to a day when every believer would receive the Holy Spirit and act under Her influence. This time came at Pentecost and we are still there. And as a direct consequence of this presence, the ability to prophesy, to have visions and dreams from God, in other words, the fullness of the Spirit naturally gives us the supernatural ability to see, to hear, to speak from the supernatural dimension of God, and opens the doors of revelation to us.
To prophesy, to speak under divine inspiration, to declare the things that are on God's heart. Certainly, there is a prophetic dimension which alone accompanies the ministry of the prophet, even in the new covenant, however, there is a dimension of revelation in which every Christian is called to live day by day. According to the scriptures, Israel had eyes, but did not see, ears, but did not hear.
The Church
Regarding theChurch, Paul prays for the Ephesians that they may receive the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, that the eyes of their heart may be enlightened, that they may know, that they may understand. Revelation, understanding, and knowledge of the spiritual things of God are part of the inheritance of the child of God and are indispensable for his service. God awaits those who will approach Him and ask that their eyes be opened.

It is imperative that our spiritual eyes and ears be open. We are too limited in our words, actions, and choices to natural circumstances even in God's work. It is time to see spiritual realities so that our choices, actions and words are based on what is on God's heart and not what the world dictates to us.
We need to become more God-conscious and more sensitive to what is on Her heart and act accordingly. This is how we will live victoriously, defeating the enemy's plans and bringing the reign of God into all hearts. This calls for a paradigm shift, a change of perspective. The time has come to prophesy. The Christian must realize that he is the voice of God wherever he is. From hungry consumers of prophetic words, let us become the voice of God in the workplace, at the mall, in our families. Wherever we are, someone needs to hear God, and God's reign must be established.
Let's do as Jesus did
God wants to break the passivity, the wait-and-see attitude of revival, the negativity, the blindness and give birth to faith, joy, passion, enthusiasm and divine vision. This is what God the Holy Spirit does. He opens our eyes to grasp the divine perspective, to see our lives, theChurch, our nation as Him sees, to be consumed by His plans and not those of the devil, and there, we can follow in His footsteps and do as Jesus does, do what we see the Father doing and say what we hear Him say. Thus a prophetic people is born.

They are men and women freed from spiritual blindness and deafness, propelled into a dimension of faith, joy, authority, and divine perspective, who rise before dawn and each day prophesy over the nation, reverse curses, call the nation to the knowledge and obedience of Christ, declare the advancement of the kingdom of God, and bless the land. Perhaps the awakening will come at this price.
O Lord, open our eyes, that we may see.
