One day, a video caught my attention on YouTube. It was an American Christian YouTuber who claimed that Christians had not received authority from God. It was in his title, so I didn't click on his video. Maybe he watered down his position in the video, as they often do after you click on their catchy title, but I wasn't interested.
One of the most extraordinary assets a Christian has is the spiritual authority Jesus gave us. This is the subject of my book, "The Secrets of Spiritual Authority." And thank goodness He gave us His authority. This is how we can command obedience from the devil and force him to leave us alone, to loosen his hold on people and the church. Over the years, I have seen the effectiveness and effectiveness of this authority. People who were previously demonized freely and joyfully serve the Lord today. But often, this authority is misunderstood.
In the first chapter of the accompanying Handbook, I write this: “The purpose of this meditation on Christian authority is to understand what authority in general and spiritual authority as such consist of. The life of Jesus demonstrated an extraordinary authority, a previously unknown autonomy from external circumstances and the plagues of His time. His authority served the cause of the Father, the goodness of God was revealed through His life.”
This is what must be an obsession for everyone: to serve the Father's cause and reveal God's goodness through their lives. "We are imitators of Christ, and our lives find meaning when they are lived in pursuit of His goals and using the same means as He." This is why knowing and exercising spiritual authority is important. Some struggle with the concept of authority, but the reality is that it is inherent in the proper functioning of society.
This is why I write in the Manual The Secrets of Spiritual Authority. “The proper functioning of society depends on the exercise of authority. The general commands his troops, the police officer apprehends criminals, the government issues directives, the Christian casts out demons and brings his whole being and life under the authority of Christ.” To facilitate study, the Manual contains fifty multiple-choice questions, one hundred essay questions, one hundred prayer prompts, and one hundred prophetic statements. The goal is to help those who wish to deepen their theological knowledge, but also to enter into spiritual depth through prayers and prophetic statements.
This is a crucial issue. To fail to exercise our authority is to live below God's purpose for our lives, to allow people to be oppressed, and to stand by while the enemy rages and destroys God's work and society. We have a responsibility on earth to do the works of Jesus and use His authority to that end.
