There are times when we feel like we can feel God's smile, a broad and generous smile as he does what he wants in our midst. I can't believe the worship at Abba House. For three weeks it's been something else, and Sunday was explosive; not by musical excellence, nor by an abundance of singers, but by the abundance of God's presence.
It's that everything is made easier when the Holy Spirit shows the way and controls the movement. Even preaching, yes, my preaching has a wonderful and liberating touch of grace. Which makes me think of the fact that generally when people appreciate a message they will congratulate, even thank... the preacher. If only they knew. I am always the most amazed and the most grateful to God for the beauty of the word that He gives us to announce.
The most beautiful thing in a church is to see that everyone participates in the same grace and the same anointing. And when I look ahead on Sunday, I see people who are involved; alive, covering the feet of Jesus with the fragrance of their praise, with joy; and who visibly absorb the word that is preached. It is a joy to talk with people and see that they apply the word they receive to their lives. This is because God must be wearing a broad smile.
The result: new leaders in power. All those who have taken prayer, the Word, mission, and service to heart have been changed. And when God takes charge of the prayer meeting and visits lives, as He did at Saturday morning's prayer service, we can only join Him and put on a big smile, saying, 'Lord, You are strong!'
