L'insensé, l'insensé

A few selections of what the Bible (Proverbs) says about the one called “the fool.” Quite enlightening:

The fool thinks he knows everything and rejects wisdom and good advice.
Ruin awaits the fool.
The fool will be the slave of the wise.
He who cannot restrain his anger is a fool.
The fool sins with his tongue
He lacks restraint and is too sure of himself.
The fool spreads lies
A fool is he who despises the instruction of his parents; a man of understanding accepts correction.
A fool cannot use money wisely.
The lips of a fool mingle in quarrels, and his mouth provokes blows.
A fool ruins himself with his mouth and traps his soul.
There is no point in trying to reason with a fool; he does not listen to wisdom.
A fool is even more dangerous than a bear deprived of its cubs.
The parents of a fool suffer and experience only pain.
Drinking will make you insane.
A fool learns only when he sees the punishment of others, but a wise man learns by instruction.
Sending a message through a fool is like cutting off your foot and drinking poison.
We must not respond to the fool in his madness, otherwise we become like him.
But also answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own eyes.
A fool with words of wisdom is like an athlete with legs that cannot move.
A hard-hearted leader is a fool.

There is more hope for a fool than for one who speaks without thinking.
