The news is good, even very good. Some of you already know that in January 2010 the third edition of our PARAKLETOS conferences arrives, and this time God's mandate is PRAYER. We are not in the habit of disobeying, at least we try not to. And so, supported by servants of God for whom we have the greatest esteem, we present PARAKLETOS 2010 European Prayer Convention. Who will deny today that our European continent is in a rather bad spiritual situation and that only divine intervention could change things!
Now we know that God works on the basis of the prayers of his people, and in our generation, it must be said that there is not an abundance of these prayers. But what matters is that we are going to change that. Prayer will not be fashionable, as I have been told (perhaps with a certain cynicism), but rather popular, accessible, and practiced by all. We need a change of mentality, and also what English speakers (of which I am one, but I know you won't hold it against me) want, 'impartation'.
Impartation, translated as communication, transfer, etc., means that those who have received something communicate it to others, release it upon them, and the thirst for God, the passion for the Gospel, in an atmosphere charged with the presence of God can be stimulated in the hearts and lives of one another. It is then up to them to make it bear fruit. In reality, we sometimes need a little something that propels us into other spiritual dimensions. This will be an opportunity to be taught, encouraged, challenged. Our speakers will know, through the power of the Holy Spirit, how to communicate to us this thirst for the presence of God and intercession to bring into existence on earth the desires of the Father's heart.
We bring everyone together, all those who understand that prayer is essential, who want to be among those who practice it, who want to be among those who transform their society in spirit. And this society is not just French, it is now European because the world is changing, we are talking about the new global village, that is, the Europe of the 27 and Europe itself is no longer just a neighborhood in this village. From Stockholm to Vilnius, from Helsinki to Marseille, we share a common future and we must pray together.
Intercessors have responded from five European countries: Germany, Italy, the Netherlands (who will participate in leading the worship), the United Kingdom, and France. We are in contact with other countries, including Ireland, Spain, Portugal, and Sweden (one of my favorite countries). This will be an opportunity for us all to come together, build relationships, and work together. Let it not be said that we have missed the opportunities God has given us to change our generation.
It is my constant thought, to be all that God made me to be; and to do all that God created me to do. And may I not be ashamed the day I stand face to face with Him. Of course, all readers of this blog are invited to participate and even serve as volunteers. We need everything and everyone, so on your marks.
