Holy Week began with Jesus traveling to Jerusalem. He was greeted triumphantly by the crowds who had taken him for the savior they were waiting for. People who had heard about the resurrection of Lazarus came out in droves to welcome him. They shouted Hosanna, which means 'save us.' They threw their clothes on the ground before his donkey. The Pharisees were shocked by the veneration Jesus received. So the beginning of the week was glorious.
As the days passed, things began to change. The expected political upheaval hadn't materialized, and Jesus was saying some powerful, disturbing things. Many of the stories we love were told by Jesus during this time. This allows us to gain a different perspective on the urgency contained within these stories.
By the end of the week, many were ready to be rid of Him. The events of this week are significant, the lessons are powerful, and the stories are extraordinary. Download this guide and immerse yourself in this period again.
