Quelques leçons simples sur la guérison divine!

Here are some simple but useful lessons about divine healing. Our mindset and attitude can affect our ability to receive healing. This is what we learn from the story of a man who was powerfully healed by God in the Old Testament through the intervention of a prophet, the prophet Elisha. First, the story of Naaman, and then, the lessons we learn from his experience.

The Healing of Naaman

Now Naaman, the commander of the king of Syria's army, was in favor and honor with his lord, because through him the LORD had given victory to the Syrians. However, this mighty and valiant man was a leper.

Naaman was sick. He wasn't even one of God's people. He listened to his servant who told him about a prophet in the kingdom of Judah. He had the intelligence to go see this prophet. This man was a great man, but he was a leper. So he went to see Elisha, or rather, at first, he went to see the king of Israel. His lord sent him to the king of Israel, ordering him to heal his servant.

6 He took the letter to the king of Israel, saying, "Now when this letter reaches you, you will know that I have sent my servant Naaman to you to heal his leprosy." 7 When the king of Israel had read the letter, he tore his clothes and said, "Am I a god, to kill and to make alive, that he should come to me to heal a man of his leprosy? Know therefore and understand that he seeks an occasion for contention with me."

The attitude of the king of Israel reminds us of the attitude of many Christians today. The king of Israel knew he was unable to heal anyone. He didn't think of God at that moment; he told himself that the king of Syria was looking for an opportunity to argue, that this was surely why he was sending his servant and asking him to heal him. He had forgotten that he had a God who knew how to heal. He was so shocked that he tore his clothes. Tearing clothes was a sign of consternation and terror, a sign of horror. But Elisha intervened.

8 When Elisha the man of God heard that the king of Israel had torn his clothes, he sent to the king, saying, "Why have you torn your clothes? Let him come to me, and he will know that there is a prophet in Israel."

The rest of the story is very interesting because Naaman goes to see Elisha. Elisha doesn't go out to talk with him. He simply sends him instructions. He must wash seven times in the Jordan, and upon coming out, his leprosy would be cleansed. Naaman was furious; he didn't see why he had to wash in that unfortunate river in Israel when there were better rivers back home. One of his servants had the wisdom to persuade him to agree to do what the prophet had said. He finally agreed, and he was completely and completely healed. The result was that he accepted the God of Israel and gave gifts to Elisha, which Elisha refused. We must be absolutely convinced of God's workings in relation to illness. Why is Naaman's case interesting?

What lessons can be learned in healing?

God's Liberality in HealingNaaman was an outsider in God's covenant with Israel. God had made promises to Israel, promises to protect the health of his people. So here is someone from the outside who comes to benefit from the help of the God of Israel. And he received what he had no right to. God can and wants to heal everyone.
The second thing is that to obtain healing, there was something more to do than wanting it. Healing did not happen automatically. We have a step of obedience to take to receive healing.
And the third thing is that the way to get healing is not complicated. Mom had something very simple to do, he didn't want to do it but by doing it he received healing. Many people miss out on healing because what is asked of them seems too simple. The power of God works in simplicity.
The fourth point is that not only did what had been asked of him seem too simple, it seemed ridiculous to him. He had his idea of what the prophet should do, he said so. We are not healed in our own way, but in His way. Many people come forward for healing and expect the person who is going to pray for them to do something particular or specific and when it is not like that they close up and refuse to follow. Do not despise instructions.
If God has healed a stranger to the covenant, we can pray with insurance for the healing of a child of God who has a covenant with Him. It is fitting to believe that healing is for you too.
