Once again at Abba House we are in the middle of our 5 to 6 week where we pray from 5:00 to 6:00 in the morning. This week as we read the book of Acts and do a study on the Holy Spirit our prayer is come Holy Spirit, do in our midst what You have done in the past, act with power and transform us.
I want to encourage everyone to maintain the freshness of this first week of morning prayer, very early for some and I hope too early for no one. Let us make it a week that we offer to the Lord, where the thoughts and desires of God become a priority in our lives again, and where we put our lives in order by setting new milestones. Of course, we are supposed to walk fully in God every day, but sometimes we let ourselves be encumbered by so many things and we lose our ardor for Christ.
This week should therefore be seen as:
- a week of change,
- a week of growth,
- a week of transformation;
- a week of renewal,
- a week of new beginnings,
- a week of purification
- a week of rebirth, of reconnection,
It's all about attitude. It's important to see this time of prayer, not as a burden; oh God, I have to get up early, but as an opportunity, a time set aside for God, a fast from sleep. We can offer this hour of sleep as a fast in the same way we give a financial gift, in the same way we fast from food. Let's make it an offering to the Lord, saying, 'Father, let this be a week of transformation, or what is crooked is made straight, I come that all things may be made new.' Do it expecting to come out of it a different person, and you won't be disappointed.
We also invite all our friends from La Compagnie Théophile to try this adventure with us. Shalom!
