One Saturday, an 'unknown' young woman came to the meeting of prayer. I thought I had seen it before, but I wasn't sure. And at the end of the meeting, she came to see me and confirmed that indeed, she had come to a meeting that we had organized at Pentecost with my friend Pastor Samson from London. She came back to tell us what God had done for her during the seminar. She had come forward for prayer to receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit and for healing. After she received the baptism in the Holy Spirit and began speaking in tongues, a member of my team prayed for her healing.
And that's why that Saturday, she traveled two hours to meet us at our premises to tell us what God had done for her. Since that day, she told us, she is completely healed, all the pain is gone. I was glad she was healed and just as glad she came to tell us. It is important to constantly say what God is doing for us. Many do not do this, yet the Bible exhorts 'forget none of his benefits'. When Jesus healed the ten lepers, only one came back to say thank you, and Jesus congratulated him and I believe thatHe congratulated this young woman Saturday
Recognition and testimony, a powerful duo. Why is it important, why did this young woman's gesture matter so much?
- To bear witness is to boast of the goodness and glory of God.
- This attracts even more favor in our lives.
- This is a tremendous encouragement to those who served, in this case, to those who had worked to create the opportunity for others to come and receive God's blessing.
- It encourages those who prayed for her to know that God acted in answer to their prayers.
- It is a demonstration of God's love that encourages others who need healing to trust God for their own healing, for God is no respecter of persons.
Some people don't like to testify, they think it's 'their story', but no, it's God's story, the demonstration of Its loyalty and it is appropriate to trumpet it. So we constantly encourage people to boast about the goodness of God and celebrate the blessings of our Lord. And we saw the impact in our church. We constantly have testimonies of God's action in lives. But I am always blessed when someone from outside takes the time to come and tell us what God has done in their life..
