Facing the prophets of Baal, his posture was that of a man who wanted to win a competition, not one who wanted God's honor restored to the nation. His prayer was fervent. In the inevitable confrontation with forces hostile to the gospel message, every child of God must have the firm assurance of God's presence and support as they walk in obedience to the Lord. They must have the confidence that God will not only protect them in natural matters, but will also exercise his dominion on the spiritual level.
Like Elijah, we are invited to earnestly seek God's presence and power in our lives and in our nation. We must be catalysts for change. Let our prayer be Elijah's: that the fire of God may descend and consume all idolatry, bringing revival and transformation where it is sorely needed.
A radical choice: destroy the compromise
Everyone must choose sides. Elijah thought he was on his own, but he did not waver. He eliminated the prophets of Baal without compromise. This radical gesture underscores the importance of not tolerating evil in our lives. Elijah, who was not a bloodthirsty man, acted decisively against the spiritual destruction that the priests of Baal were causing in the nation. We are called to radically eradicate sin and compromise in our own lives. We must reflect on our own lives and make deliberate choices that honor God.
It is time to put an end to idolatry and compromise in our lives and in the church. Everyone must identify and eliminate anything that could compromise their relationship with God. It is truly essential to take care of ourselves and protect ourselves from demonic influences and harmful behaviors. We cannot become attached to relationships or activities that lead us away from God. This is crucial for our spiritual growth and our Christian witness.
Elijah took a radical stand against the priests of Baal; he was not bloodthirsty. In the Church today, not every spirit or person can be given free rein, regardless of the spirit that animates them. Even within the Church, it is imperative to monitor one's influences, because not everyone is sanctified or in tune with God. Temptation and sin can come from a brother or sister, and we are more accepting when the influence comes from a Christian brother or sister or a family member.

Waiting for the manifestation of God
Elijah had not yet seen anything, but he was waiting for something. We must live in fervent expectation of God's manifestation in our lives and in our church. God has given His Word; He invites us to cooperate with Him. We must cultivate a mindset of anticipation to see the miracles and fruits of the Kingdom manifest.
Each of our actions and each of the services we perform in the Kingdom of God must be guided by an unwavering faith, because we know that God will act and we will obtain abundant results. Whether in reception, on the sound system, in evangelism, in praise, on the Web, I pray, I act and I expect a rain of healing, of transformation of lives. Like Elijah, we perceive the sound that announces the rain even before we see it.
God works with a growing people, not a passive people.
Prayer is of paramount importance to receive the answer. Elijah had a word from the Lord, but he had to pray. He tells Ahab a sound that heralds rain. The rain has fallen. We must no longer limit God; we must pray according to the Word we have received, act accordingly, and we will see amazing results.
