2009 curtain down – happiness and desperate cry for God

Final impressions of 2009: the feeling of God's happiness. This morning in prayer, I heard myself declare how happy I was, happy that God was getting what He wanted and that things were unfolding according to His plan. I felt great joy in the Father's heart. I stopped and began to think how good and fascinating it is to work with and for God. He is extraordinarily optimistic and sure of Himself.

Some time ago, while we were preparing and working on different aspects of the prayer convention From the end of January, the availability of speakers, the organization and that a certain pressure was beginning to be felt, while I was traveling non-stop and was also taken up with work, I wondered why I had accepted this additional burden. And that's when the Lord spoke to my heart. He reminded me that He had told me to call a prayer meeting. Did I intend to be there? I answered yes, in which case, do it. Case closed.

I realized that all those things I was worrying about were unimportant, and that I just had to keep obeying and doing what He told me to do. That blessed me. And then God gave us great favor on all levels. Yet from that conversation, it was deeply etched in my mind that God is not at all impressed by all those things that usually concern us, not at all impressed by our pedigree, only our submission and obedience matter.

So I know that if I'm obedient, no matter what happens, no matter who else is there, God will be there. And that's the whole reason we do all this, the manifest presence of God. It's a real obsession with me. It's the reason we fast and spend a lot of time in prayer before Parakletos. And God has always come, and when He comes, He takes us much further in the Spirit. And in the end, I'm always amazed and overwhelmed with the sense of the infinite greatness of God and the honor it is to belong to Him.

So at 59 minutes into the new year, I am very happy because I feel the joy of the Father's heart, and I believe that He will come again this time. But at the same time, I feel this desperate cry for the presence of God, a desperate cry for that place in God where no music can bring us, where prophecy can bring us, where no preaching can bring us, where no artifice can bring us, where only God's pleasure in us and the offering of our lives can lead us.

Come what may, come whoever comes, Father, if You come, I will be deeply satisfied.
