Discover God's enduring love through the story of the prophet and the prostitute.

God's enduring love is a vast theme that runs throughout the Bible. It finds its ultimate expression in the coming of Christ and His sacrifice. But throughout the history of God's people, different situations have allowed us to appreciate the depth and persistence of God's love for humanity. The story of the prophet Hosea and his prostitute wife is one example that illustrates this love.

We find that in God's Word, the imagery of marriage recurs constantly to illustrate the relationship between God and His people. We will note that when God's people are disobedient and rebel, they are often accused of committing adultery. Likewise, the idolatry of the people is called adultery. Moreover, in the New Testament, the church is the bride of Christ. Thus, it is a recurring image in God's Word.

1. If we do not think about the heart of God, we will live below the love that God wants to give us.
2. God has no problem loving us; but we have many problems remaining in His love.
3. We cannot grieve the heart of God and still experience His love.
4. To love Him is not to say, "I love you, Lord." To love Him is to do what is good for that relationship, what is pleasing to Him. Likewise, He loved us, not by saying, "I love you," but by doing something to save us. 
5. If we are not obsessed with pleasing God, we are certainly grieving His heart.  
6. Divorce is permitted in cases of adultery, but it is not commanded. Forgiveness is possible.
7. A life well lived is a life that pleases God.
8. There are people who have not converted today because they are convinced that God cannot forgive them.
9.  People who kill themselves do not know this persistent love.
10. We cannot please God if we do not do God's work, no matter how many verses we know.
11. The revelation we receive will change our lives, but if we don't give it to someone else, we will lose it.
12. I am determined that nothing will separate me from the love of Christ.
13. We ask for revival, but for revival, God needs people who obey Him, who do what He says.
