Delivered from despair and Alzheimer's symptoms

Here is Mercy's testimony. She is truly grateful to God for changing her life since arriving at ABBA HOUSE. Here is a selection of some of the testimonies she shared. It is edifying.

Testimony on fasting

When she first arrived at ABBA HOUSE, fasting simply seemed impossible for her. This was especially true on Wednesdays, the weekly fast day. For her, it was really difficult. She confessed that there were times when she thought, "Okay, they're fasting now, but maybe I can just fake it and stop at a certain point." However, she knew that would be dishonest, even if no one was checking whether she had fasted or not. As she reflected on this, she realized that no, she couldn't do that; it would be a lie.

What you need to know, and this shows the extent of the difficulty she felt, is that when she first came to ABBA HOUSE, not eating before 2 p.m. was unimaginable to her. She thought she simply couldn't do it. At a particular point in her life, food had become her source of comfort. Instead of seeking comfort in God, she turned to food for comfort. Because of this, it was as if she had a spirit urging her to eat something; even if she ate just a little, she still had to eat. It was a struggle. But the Lord allowed her not only to fast, but also to do the three-day monthly fast and, on occasion, to fast personally. She truly sees God's grace in this.

Testimony of gratitude

There is something she discovered and learned at ABBA HOUSE. Previously, she used to thank the Lord. She used to take time and sometimes dedicate one day a week to saying thank you to God. Even if she was informed of a disaster or other event, she always expressed her gratitude and transformed everything into thanksgiving. However, she had gone through difficult times, and she lost all that. She lost the ability to say thank you to the Lord.

On Monday morning, during prayer, she knew the meeting would be devoted to expressing thanks for Sunday, but she had fallen so low that she wondered if God would actually take care of her problems while she expressed her gratitude. It was a real struggle to concentrate on thanking God. But everything changed because the Lord restored her ability to say thank you. He propelled her to a new level of gratitude in her life.

She also learned to take the time to express his gratitude for eternal and spiritual things. Previously, most of her thanks were related to things in the material world; that is, her physical ability, professional and financial advancement, etc. But now, she understands the importance of expressing her gratitude for God's presence and for the action of His Word in and through her. She could not do this before, and she wants to say thank you to the Lord.

 Testimony of healing

On July 23, 2014, at 2:05 p.m., in the Opera district, she met someone she had never seen in her life. And she hoped never to see them again. The person pushed her, and she fell, injuring her hand. It was a terrible accident, and she almost lost her hand. She was taken to Cochin Hospital, but God was good to her. At one point, she was in the emergency room, and as she watched the doctors at work, she realized she had lost her hand. She used her other hand to send text messages to people, asking them to pray urgently for her, which they did.

Miraculously, when the nurse returned to run more tests, she said they wouldn't operate on her again. She took this to mean her nerves were working again and she wouldn't lose her hand. However, she could no longer write with that hand. Furthermore, between 2014 and 2016, she said, she had begun to experience symptoms of Alzheimer's disease. She had learned about Alzheimer's disease during a previous internship. So, it wasn't a figment of her imagination. The symptoms were real.

This was the state she was in when she arrived at ABBA HOUSE. In any case, since she already had symptoms of Alzheimer's disease, she had no hope of achieving anything in life. She was also convinced that her career in pharmacy was over. She was so convinced of this that in 2015, she enrolled in a Master's program in the field of disability, with the intention of starting a business in this area. Her professors were very happy with her presence in the course. But something unexpected happened. She completed her Master's degree with a grade of 10, but the professors advised her not to return. It was as if they were slamming the door in her face. And this, even though she thought she would start a business venture related to this field. She didn't understand the rejection. It was clear to her that everything related to her career was over.

Then she came to ABBA HOUSE; she heard the testimony of one of the members whose memory was restored as a result of prayer; and she asked for prayers for her own memory. She knew it wouldn't be an instant healing, but gradually, she began to realize that her memory was returning. Recently, she discovered that her intellectual abilities, including her memory, had almost returned to normal. The Lord also allowed her to resume her profession and return to the hospital where she had been in 2006 and begin working there again. It truly felt like a resurrection, and she was grateful to God for this restoration. She remembered that she had completely forgotten what God had promised: to restore, by His grace, the stolen and lost years. She also experienced a noticeable improvement in her hand.

Testimony of a change of mindset

She had frequented various Christian circles in the past, and she had met so many people, French and foreign, who believed that France was beyond redemption. They thought that yes, they could always pray, but it was impossible to change France. Then, one day, she heard the pastor say, "We are going to change the laws." This statement had a profound impact on her, and she thought to herself, "There is another sound," she saw that there was room for hope, for seeing differently.

And one day, the pastor shared the miracles God had promised to perform for a specific group of people, to deliver them instantly. This lit a fire in her, as her heart ached for this group of people. Her cry was that instead of pointing fingers at them, someone had to be the deliverer. So she really wants to thank God for this change in mindset.

Also, when she came to ABBA HOUSE, she initially attended church out of obedience. And one day, during a Zoom meeting, the Lord released a word of knowledge to say, “It is a favor that you are here.” And they were supposed to say it to each other. She knew that message was meant for her. Someone turned to her and said, “Mercy, it is a favor that you are at ABBA HOUSE.” She knew God was speaking to her.

She truly failed to see and appreciate ABBA HOUSE; she was also influenced by evil spirits. She thanks God for opening her eyes and allowing her to see things she hadn't seen before. This new perspective fills her with gratitude. Furthermore, she is grateful to God for instilling in her the conviction to keep moving forward when He says so, even in the face of obstacles. So she thanks the Lord for this.
