It is impossible to flatter Jesus

Again this morning I feel like saying 'it is impossible to flatter Jesus.' That's a quote from Charles Spurgeon, and I like it very much. In other words, nothing good you could say about Christ would be too much. It's about His excellence, His beauty, His glory, His omnipotence, His majesty. I once told myself that I would try to exaggerate the greatness of God, to give Him excessive praise, but I couldn't. Why? Because it is impossible to flatter God. Any good that could be said about Him would not only be true but would fall short of reality.

It is an extraordinary thing to be connected to an infinite, indescribable being, whose Person surpasses all imagination and whose thought triggers exultation, joy, wonder. I constantly tell my people that God should always be the subject of our meditation, the measure of my meditation of God is the measure of my knowledge and the measure of my intimacy.

Our spiritual life will be transformed when we begin to focus more on the Person of God than on the benefits we derive from our relationship with Him, especially the material benefits that seem to occupy an inordinate place in our Christian life. God is Spirit, we are Spirit, and it is by focusing on His Person that we taste the spiritual and heavenly realities of God that transform natural and human realities.

And when God becomes real to us, the whole atmosphere of our life is transformed, spiritually, mentally, physically, we are transformed. The dimension of God becomes ours, the natural loses its tyranny and the colors of life become more vivid. God is real and those who say they belong to Him should strive to know Him, to make Him a palpable reality in their lives. And there they can only constantly exclaim like Spurgeon, decidedly, it is impossible to flatter Jesus.

  1. It's true we can't flatter Jesus

It is true that we must aspire, as Christians, to know Him more each day, to resemble Him and to let Christ in us take all the space so that He can manifest Himself and that we bear good fruits that are palpable, visible and which attract the eye.
This is our first testimony, this is the first tool of evangelization.
    be blessed
