People often find it hard to believe when I tell this story.
More than twenty years ago, we went to Burgundy for a mission in and around the town of Avallon. I, the Parisian, was with a team from London, all young people. One day, the minister in charge of the London team asked me to preach at the evening meeting. And you know what I did: I said, No. I preferred one of his 'guys' to do it. I didn't dare, too much to-priori.
In your life, beloved, surround yourself with people who not only love you but also see you, who see what you are and what you are called to become. Some saw the baby Jesus and recognized the Messiah, others saw him as an adult, teaching and performing miracles, and called him Beelzebub, and his family wanted him home, to stop his ministry nonsense. We will talk about this another time.
God overcame my reluctance and, through various means, put my back to the wall. I had to obey.
Today, with my team, our varied teachings and testimonies reach more than 150 nations. Yes, a lot of water has flowed under the bridge since then. This is to say that this weekend, with the arrival of this servant, Pastor Tayo Awoyera, we are welcoming a friend and a true brother to Abba House.
He is an apostle and a prophet, a man who has always seen what God has placed in me and has always honored and respected it. He is the apostolic overseer at Kensington Temple, London, and pastor of Agape Christian Centre. God is using him prophetically in the nations, and I know he has a powerful word for us in this season. (During this same mission, around a table, the host couple was childless, the pastor prayed and prophesied, a boy was born the following year.).
So, this weekend come receive a word for your life and dare to challenge circumstances and preconceptions.
