MEDITATION
Gratitude journals are all the rage because even non-Christian personal development experts have realized that gratitude is good for the soul. Why? Because ultimately, everything is a gift. We came to earth with nothing, and every day we receive countless blessings. All these blessings, this beauty that surrounds us in nature, Christians know that God is the source.
Health and well-being come from God. The sun rises regularly, its light is so pleasant, it comes from God. The love of a loved one, the birth of a child, it comes from God. The beauty of music, the camaraderie of friends, it comes from God. All these things exist through the goodness and presence of God. Without God, there would be no goodness, no love, no kindness. Everything would be devoid of meaning, emptied of beauty, given over to utter corruption. And this is precisely what awaits those who die without Christ.
James 1:17 says it clearly:
«Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights.»
All It comes from Him. Even in a fallen world, even among those who reject Him, God continues to dispense His goodness. That is why one day finding oneself far from the presence of the Lord and the glory of His power is a destiny to flee. And this is one of the most terrible characteristics of eternal punishment: total separation from God and all His blessings. It is the very essence of hell.
Eternal banishment
The Greek expression 'apo prosōpou' literally means 'away from the face.' It evokes total banishment. It signifies a definitive exclusion from God's presence. All access to Him is closed forever. Paul echoes the Lord's own words, who warned us of this possibility. On the day of judgment, He will say to some:
«I never knew you; depart from me» (Matthew 7:23).
The Greek verb "apochōreō" means to withdraw, to leave, to be excluded. Jesus reached out to human beings throughout their existence on earth, and they refused the outstretched hand. It will be His turn to refuse any possible relationship in the future. But we have been warned. We have seen Matthew 25:41, where Jesus warns that one day He will say to some, "Depart from me, you who are cursed." Then they will be sent into eternal fire. First separation, then torment.
To be excluded from God's presence is to be plunged into the devil's sphere. To be deprived of God's goodness and beauty is to be exposed to wickedness and horror in their most brutal form. Herein lies the tragic irony: those who denounce the state of the world while turning their backs on God prepare themselves to live eternally in an environment where this wickedness is multiplied.
There will be no respite, no consolation. Consolation, even from an unbelieving friend, will cease to exist apart from God. Every vestige of goodness will be removed. Man will then manifest what sin produces when it is no longer restrained by common grace.
What many people don't realize is that even the most convinced atheists still benefit from God. Total separation from God is impossible on Earth, because God sustains all things. It is only in hell that man fully experiences the life he has sought: an existence entirely detached from God.
God's Offer
Here, in contrast, is a description of life close to God:
«There is fullness of joy in your presence; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore» (Psalm 16:11).
And God's final plan for his people is clear:
«Behold, the dwelling place of God is with men, and he shall dwell with them» (Revelation 21:3).
Every day lived in communion with God is a foretaste of heaven. Every moment of prayer, praise, and meditation on His Word is a window onto blessed eternity. And this is what we desire for others as well.
During this fast, meditate on the presence of God that you experience. Every moment of peace, every answer to prayer, every feeling of His closeness, every truth of His Word that brings joy—all of this is an immense gift. Then, share this reality with someone who lives without God, a simple and personal testimony.
Our mission: to lead to presence
Let us go and tell our generation that separation from God is not desirable. Let us tell them that even in their rebellion, they still enjoy God's grace. They claim to be fine without God, but whether they like it or not, God is the source of all the good in their lives. What they most do not want is to find themselves in a place completely devoid of God's presence and grace. And yet, that is the path they are heading toward if they reject Christ.

- Is God's presence truly my greatest treasure, or do I take it for granted?
- How can we share the joy of God's presence this week with someone who lives without Him?
PRAYER
- Father, thank you for Your presence in my life. All the good I experience comes from You.
- I promise to speak out and raise awareness about this issue. Grant me success as I go to those who are heading towards an eternal destiny far from Your presence.
- During this fast, help me to lead people into Your presence. I want to be an instrument in Your hands, so that lives may pass from separation to communion, from death to life. In Jesus' name, amen.
