Pourquoi faut-il connaitre 'Les secrets de l'autorité

Why, instead of boldly advancing Jesus' Kingdom on earth, do His followers live as victims of life, circumstances, and the devil, or are obsessed with survival and personal well-being? Why do they feel so powerless in the face of oppressive spiritual forces and so helpless in the face of an antagonistic society that they renegotiate their most fundamental beliefs?

Look closely and you will see that many Christians struggle, sometimes for years, to free themselves from evil spirits, to thrive in an unforgiving world, to stand for Jesus while dying inside, to desperately cling to their faith in the face of the mockery of militant atheism; but without actually succeeding. Collectively, in some nations, Christians are becoming overcome with a sense of hopelessness and helplessness as society seems to turn against them and demonize their beliefs. Many have given in to intimidation and renegotiated their values when they have not denied the Savior. Others accept oppression as normal and eagerly await the return of Jesus.

Is this the way forward? Do we have to capitulate collectively and individually? Is this ultimately God's desire, or is there something missing? I think one of the missing elements is a firm commitment to God's plan for the Kingdom of God and to exercising our spiritual authority to that end. We must return to imitating Christ, embracing His goals, His way of being and doing.

One of the things that amazed Jesus' contemporaries about Him was the authority He exercised in every circumstance. With authority, He taught, He cast out evil spirits, He healed the sick, He influenced the forces of nature, and He rebuked ecclesiastical and even political authorities. He was characterized by strength, integrity, and a commitment to God's rule in every circumstance. He imparted this same authority to His disciples during His lifetime, and they, too, subdued opposing forces, to their great astonishment. He possessed the ability to subdue oppressive forces and circumstances.

He left us without the slightest doubt that God's priority is the establishment of His reign in lives and on earth. He taught us to pray "Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven." And He sent His Church with His authority to bring people to Him, for the establishment of His reign in lives and on earth.

This book explores the question of the spiritual authority delegated to Jesus' disciples. What does it consist of, where does it come from, and how and over what can it be exercised? It discusses the Christian's autonomy from oppressive spiritual and natural entities and systems and their mandate to establish God's dominion in all spheres of influence. It explains the means of exercising the mandate of dominion with spiritual weapons, for the spiritual governs the natural.

Whether at the individual, professional, legislative, political, etc. level, the disciple exercises his spiritual authority against spiritual powers, in faith to make the Father's desires triumph.
