Prayer '5 to 6' – new perspectives

  • Our week 5 to 6 is over. We will resume next month. Everyone shared their experiences on Sunday at our usual meeting place. It was very interesting to see where everyone was at.
  • Renée, who was away, called me to express her satisfaction about the article from the blog on the subject. She had participated remotely in the prayer time and she felt that Jesus deserved that we make sacrifices for Him.
  • Indeed, happy is he from whom God asks something that costs him, that requires a reorganization of his priorities and his plans.
  • It is said of John Wesley that he had refused a late dinner with the great Samuel Johnson because it would have prevented him from getting up early to pray. For more than 50 years he got up every day at 4:30 a.m. to pray and read the Bible.
  • John Bunyan, author of the classic 'Pilgrim's Progress', is said to have said, "He who runs away from God in the morning will find it hard to find him the rest of the day." Ouch!
  • Spurgeon said he preferred to train A man to prayer rather than ten preachers.
  • These men of another era understood the importance of constant communication with God. May God find in our generation those who will live like them. I want to be part of it.
