What will Jesus do at Christmas: personal expenses or donations?

As I finished my meeting today, my first thought was what I was going to eat in the evening. I hadn't had lunch and I was quite hungry. I turned to a colleague and complained about having to decide two or three times a day what I was going to eat, and I said if only we could not be hungry, so we could go whole days without having to think about food. I immediately pulled myself together and thought of all the people around the world who would have liked to have the problem I had, that of someone who lived in overabundance and was spoiled for choice.

As we prepare to celebrate Christmas and gorge ourselves, as we do every year, children around the world will die from malnutrition, hunger, and disease caused by the lack of clean water. A cholera epidemic has broken out in Zimbabwe. Cholera kills, yet it is preventable. You and I can do something. Before you empty your bank account this season to buy more gifts for people who lack nothing, think about what you can do to feed a child elsewhere in the world. Jesus said, 'When I was hungry, you gave me food, and when I was thirsty, you gave me drink...' Who will you give food and drink to this season as we celebrate the coming of the Savior?
