A few years ago, when we organized a large event, we considered holding a women's meeting alongside the evangelistic portion of the event, but some of God's servants strongly opposed it. Why? Because if the two meetings were held in parallel, there would be almost no one at the evangelistic meeting, because more than three-quarters of the people involved in their churches were women. They couldn't count on men to be there, and there in large numbers. There's a problem, and we need to react.
At the last Parakletos on Saturday night from the platform, I shouted, 'Where are the men of God?' 'Are there any men of God in the room?' At first the response was timid, I urged them to be bolder, and in return I heard a roar from my brothers, the kind I want to hear in church. And I said to them, “The Church needs you, God needs you, we need you in prayer meetings, prayer is not just for women.”
I have a terrible burden and a deep cry to see men of God rise up in the Church and in our church. Let us pray on Sunday and throughout this coming week for the men at Abba House and in the Church.
Let us pray for
- Radical and massive conversions among men
- May they become true disciples, men of God, passionate about Jesus
- May God touch their hearts for his service
- May God give us men of integrity, zeal, passion, consecrated, reliable, serious, solid, stable, lovers of holiness,
- Let the zeal for the house of God consume them, men who are the first to arrive and the last to depart
- May God give us the cream of the crop, the best he has, men of value, examples.
- And for the four S's – spiritual, sacrificial, strong and submitted.
Shalom!
