Some say, 'I prayed for it, but when I didn't get it, I decided to step back from the church.' I say, 'But really, God must have mourned your departure.'
No, we are not freeloaders. We don't come to church because we need a new car, we need a new job, and if we don't get it, we don't come back, no. We come because we have received Jesus, we have met the Son of God, He has redeemed us. He has forgiven our sins. He has given us a new start. So, job or no job, car or no car, we follow Jesus and we persevere to the end.
'But yes, I was discouraged because I prayed, I received nothing.'
God has already given you His Son. Nothing He will do for you today will be as great as what He has already done. The blood of Jesus was shed for you. So, we are already in debt for life, perpetually in debt, continually in debt. If we don't know it, it's because we don't thank Him. So, whatever the challenge, whatever the difficulty, we keep going.
Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer; be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.
Faithful unto death, that's what a Christian is. In other words, even if you were put to death for Jesus, remain firm in your convictions.
