It's amazing how many people think leadership is about making people happy. I tell those around me that my role is not to guarantee their happiness. If someone looks to you for their happiness, the day will come when they'll be upset, disappointed, or upset by something.
Then, for Spurgeon, another source of joy is knowing that we have been reconciled with this God and, even more so, that we are now part of His family. There are relationships that fill and change life. There are relationships that make us privileged.
