We have learned that joy is more than a sense of humor, more than earthly pleasure, and for a believer even more than what we call happiness. Joy is delighting in God and in the good things that come from God's hand. If our new freedom in Christ could be compared to a piece of cake, joy would be the cherry. If the Bible gives us the wonderful words of life, joy provides the music. If the road to heaven proves to be a steep, arduous climb, joy is the chairlift.
